What items do you have around your house that makes living with your disability easier? I just found a link to a tool that I used daily, starting in my first apartment kitchen with the inaccessible range with controls on the rear panel. I had a wooden stick with a notch in one end and a notch on the side. It was perfect for reaching across a hot burner to turn the temperature dial or sliding the oven rack in/out. Finally, I graduated to a cooktop with side controls. I still loved my strange stick but when it broke, a few years ago, I was hard pressed to find another. Lo and behold, today I found a DIY blog post about making another.
One more like my original is even available on Amazon!
So, I’d love to hear from you, dependable readers, what tools you rely on to make life easier for you?
